William Attaway

Lead Pastor

William Attaway became the third lead pastor of Southview Community Church in 2006. Prior to coming to Southview as the associate pastor in 2004, he served as a staff minister at North Richland Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as churches in Mississippi and Alabama. Pastor William is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He is a graduate of William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS (B.A. in Religion), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX (M.A. in Theology), and Trinity Southwest University (Ph.D. in Old Testament studies, emphasis in archaeology). William and his wife Charlotte were married in 1997, and they have two daughters: Erin, born in 2004, and Allison, born in 2007.

In previous ministry settings, Pastor William has most enjoyed developing programs for leadership training. He believes and tries to model that a pastor’s job is not to do everything himself, but to “equip the saints for the work of service”. Pastor William’s primary spiritual gifts are teaching, leadership, and administration. He also teaches as an adjunct for two undergraduate programs. The Attaways homeschool their daughters, striving to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. His favorite verse of Scripture is Romans 8:31 - “What then shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Brittany Blankenship

Director of Ministries

Brittany Blankenship joined the Southview team in June 2017. From student ministry to digital ministry, Brittany has a heart for serving the local church and community. In September 2022, Brittany stepped into a new role at Southview as the Director of Ministries. She's excited to partner with each of our ministry teams as we seek to reach people far from God in our local community and help them to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Brittany married her husband Blake in 2018 and they welcomed their first child in October 2020. They also have two fur babies, Bella and Sadie.

Mark Kime

Assistant to the Pastor

Mark Kime and his wife, Susanne, began attending Southview in 1985. Mark has been active in several ministries and currently is serving as an Assistant to the Pastor. Mark graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1978 and is retired from the Federal Government after 34 years of service. Mark and Susanne were married in 1978 and have 3 children.

When not volunteering at Southview, Mark enjoys sports of all kind, reading, and a new interest, hiking. One of his favorite Bible verses is Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God through Him”.

Jenna Kirkart

Director of Family Ministry Volunteers

Jenna Kirkhart has been thankful to call Southview home since moving to Reston in the summer of 2019 and is even more thankful to join the church staff team in the summer of 2022! Born and raised in New Hampshire, Jenna grew up in a Christian home and was homeschooled through high school. While she always believed in God, the Bible, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, she made the decision to follow Jesus in high school.

Her faith was solidified through her time attending college, graduating in 2014 with a B.A. in Child Development. She worked through college at a preschool and loved watching the children learn, supporting the other teachers, and doing the occasional administrative work. After getting married to her husband, Robert, she moved to North Carolina for several years before landing in northern Virginia, working as a nanny, Kids Ministry Assistant, preschool teacher, and Children’s Library Assistant along the way.

Over the past two years, Jenna has dedicated her time to supporting her husband and their daughter, Ellie with caregiving, nourishment, and consistent rhythms of life. When not serving at Southview, Jenna enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her small group family!

Christy Warner

Interim Worship Leader

Christy Warner grew up scream singing "God Bless America" at anyone who would listen and is thrilled to have a new, captive audience at Southview! Serving as the Worship leader is her first foray in ministry, but not her first time leading in music. While a student at Penn State, Christy founded and led the Ukulele club (PSUkulele), performing at the children's hospital, all across town at special events, and occasionally at luau-themed parties at the local retirement community. Christy has been living in the area since 2017 and has been attending and volunteering at Southview since 2021.

Christy and her husband, Paul, welcomed their sweet baby boy, William (not to be mistaken for the Pastor), into the world in October of 2022. Christy is lactose intolerant but is glad that it has not slowed her down in the pursuit of her dream of singing in a praise band and raising up the name of God on Sunday mornings.

Alora A.jpg

Alora Zrenda

Ministry Assistant

Alora Zrenda enjoys the dynamic and versatile hats she’s been able to wear at Southview since joining the team in 2016. Born and adopted in Taiwan, Alora grew up in California in a non-Christian home. Believing that Jesus revealed Himself to her at a young age, she found her true identity as the adopted daughter of God and her family in the body of believers. Dubbed the “floater” in her service attitude, her willingness to go and serve in areas with the greatest needs have landed her in unexpected roles and experiences. That is what she loves best about her God- His ability to grow, teach and stretch her in doing things she never thought she would be able to do for His glory, which also aligns with her favorite life verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”- Philippians 4:13.

A true CA girl, Alora often makes quick escapes from her better half husband and 3 mischievous daughters to LA to get her In n Out, boba, and flip flop weather fixes. In her spare time, Alora can be found immersed in watching K drama, listening to K pop music and enjoying some Korean cuisine. She is an avid Big Bang and Jeremy Lin fan and is unrepentant in showing her fan support. She is also happy to call Southview her home church since 2012.
