COMMUNITY OUTREACH

We are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus for people in our community. Our Community Outreach Team is working closely with local organizations to identify needs in our community as they arise due to the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries 

We're partnering with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM) to help them stock the shelves of their food pantry. WFCM provides food and financial support to reduce hunger and the risk of homelessness among residents of western Fairfax County.

Help us stock their shelves by bringing non-perishable food and toiletries with you on Sunday at 10am beginning 6/27. For a list of needed items visit: southview.org/fooddrive

Hope in Northern Virginia

We are partnering with Hope in Northern Virginia, a Christ-centered, pro-life pregnancy center, as they seek to empower women to choose life by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

Southview Community Church will be hosting a baby bottle drive beginning May 16 - June 13 to support Hope has they continue to empower women by sharing the love of Jesus Christ. For more details on participating in-perosn and online, visit southview.org/drive-thru.

The Lamb Center

The Lamb Center is a daytime drop‐in homeless shelter for individuals who are experiencing homelessness in Fairfax, Virginia. We provide breakfast, lunch, showers, laundry service, Bible studies, employment opportunities, housing and job counseling, AA meetings, a nurse practitioner clinic, a dental clinic, and much more.
 

Southview Community Church hosted a drive-thru donation event on 2/27 and collected over 700 pounds of donations for the Lamb Center.

Inova Children's Hospital

Inova Children's Hospital (formerly Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children) is an award-winning, full-service children’s hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area.


 

Southview Community Church held a toy drive in February 2021 and collected $1,440 for Inova Children's Hospital. southview.org/toydrive

The Mission Continues

At The Mission Continues, they're on a mission to connect veterans with under-resourced communities. Their programs deploy veteran volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity, and more.
 

Southview Community Church held a Christmas Offering in December 2020 for The Mission Continues. Because of your generosity, we were able to donate $4,200 to The Mission Continues. 

Cornerstones

Cornerstones is a nonprofit organization that promotes self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.

 

 


 

Southview Community Church hosted a food drive in November where over 700lbs of food and $1,075 in gift cards were donated to help families in our community.

Hope in Northern Virginia

Hope in Northern Virginia is a christ-centered pregnancy center that has operated in Northern Virginia for almost 50 years with a mission to empower women to choose life by sharing the love of Jesus Christ. All of their services are free of charge thanks to the generosity of the community and the provision of our sovereign Lord.

Southview Community Church hosted a Baby Bottle Campaign from October 4-18 to show our support for Hope in Northern Virginia.

She Believes In Me

She Believes in Me was founded in 2018 by a group of school counselors, teachers, and social workers in Herndon, Virginia. These professionals recognized an urgent and growing need to provide support to young girls in the community, many of whom were suffering as a result of poverty and trauma.

Southview Community Church held a drive-thru donation event in August where over 700lbs of school supplies and family activity pack items, (puzzles, coloring books, activity kits, etc.) were donated to help young girls in our community.

The Lamb Center

The Lamb Center is a daytime drop-in shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness in Fairfax, Virginia. They provide a variety of services without cost to our guests, including breakfast, lunch, showers, laundry service, Bible studies, housing and job counseling, AA meetings, a nurse practitioner clinic, a dental clinic, and much more.

On July 25, 2020 (9am - 12pm) Southview Community Church held a drive-thru donation event and a truck full of donated items were delivered to The Lamb Center!

Lynn Care Center Nursing Home

Lynn Care Center is dedicated to providing quality care for patients who need post-hospital rehabilitation and skilled nursing care as well as for long-term residents.
 

On June 26, 2020, Southview Community Church came together to show our support and appreciation for these nurses on the frontline. Your generosity provided over $1,600 in gift cards and encouraging appreciation notes to nurses at the Lynn Care Center

Fair Oaks District Police Station

The men and women of the Fair Oaks District partner with residents and businesses to make communities safe in the Chantilly, Fairfax, Herndon, Oakton, Oak Hill and Vienna areas of Fairfax County.  
 

We're coming together to show our support and appreciation for the first responders at the Fair Oaks District Police Station. Completed care packages can be dropped off at Southview on Friday, May 29th from 9AM - 1PM.
 

Sanctity of Life Ministries

Sanctity of Life Ministries (SLM) exists to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and affirm life in the womb. SLM offes compassionate support, education and medical services to those who face challenging sexual health decisions. They want to present “Life in Christ…Life in the Womb” to the many women who come in.

In May 2020, Southview Community Church held a drive-thru donation event to support SLM. Over 2,000 diapers, 6,000 wipes, car seats, pack n plays, and other essential baby items were collected and donated to moms in need.

Embry Rucker Community Shelter

The Embry Rucker Community Shelter (ERCS) is a 70-bed residential shelter that provides healthy, safe, emergency housing for individuals and families.  They are dedicated to helping our clients overcome the circumstances that led to their homelessness, and facilitate their transition to stable housing.

In April 2020, Southview Community Church held a drive-thru donation event to support ERCS. Over 15 bins filled with non-perishable food and gift cards were donated to support the emergency shelter during COVID-19.

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries

Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM) provides food and financial support to reduce hunger and the risk of homelessness among residents of western Fairfax County. In spite of its status as one of the wealthiest counties in the United States, almost 70,000 county residents live below poverty.

In April 2020, Southview Community Church hosted a drive-thru donation event, collecting 533 lbs of food to support WFCM during COIVD-19.

Virginia Cancer Specialists

Virginia Cancer Specialists offers a dedicated team of Medical Oncologists, Hematologists, Oncology Nurses, Oncology Pharmacists, a Research Department and a world-class Laboratory…all under one roof, working together on your behalf.

In April 2020, Southview Community Church has donated handcrafted medical masks to help support Virginia Cancer Specialists during COVID-19.
