Holiday Food Baskets

As part of our ongoing partnership with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM), we hope to get SMBS classes, small groups, and individual families to participate in WFCM’s Holiday Food Baskets program. Each basket consists of the items necessary to put together a traditional holiday meal for a local family. Suggestions include:

• Gift card to purchase turkey, ham or chicken
• Potatoes/Sweet potatoes (large box of instant/canned)
• Apples or oranges
• Canned green beans or peas
• Canned corn
• Stuffing
• Gravy
• Dinner rolls
• Juices
• Cakes, pies, or cookies
• Other kid-friendly foods
• Holiday-themed paper products
• Any other favorites of your family!

Last year WFCM received requests for 1,200 baskets and they anticipate needing even more this year. SMBS classes and small groups interested in participating can have members sign-up below.  Individual families are also welcome to put together baskets on their own.

Please fill out the form below or email Kelly Friedlander by Sunday, December 4, with the number of baskets your class, small group, or family is providing. Baskets must be delivered to SCC on Saturday, December 17 between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Anyone interested in helping with the delivery of baskets to WFCM can contact Kelly for additional details.
