NeXt

“God wants us to growup, to know the whole truth, and to tell it in love like Christ in everything.” (Ephesians 4:15)

Spiritual growth and maturity is a process. While each believer may progress at different speeds, our intent is to offer a clear “onramp” for people at every step on their spiritual journey. Spiritual transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit. We do not control the Spirit. We can pursue transformation, but we can’t make it happen. John Ortberg writes, “We can open ourselves to transformation through certain practices, but we cannot engineer it. We can take no credit for it.” We can make a decision to pursue transformation – and that’s what the neXt discipleship classes at Southview are about.

The purpose of the neXt classes at Southview is to help you become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ through a comprehensive program of biblically sound instruction, training, and mentoring intended to contribute to your spiritual growth, equipping you to contribute to the spiritual growth of others in the body of Christ.

Various classes are offered during 5 sessions per year on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:40 a.m.:

  • Winter (Jan 15-Apr 1) – 11 weeks
  • Spring (Apr 15-May 20) – 6 weeks

So, how exactly does Jonah’s journey relate to yours?

As we look back on the big picture of life, it’s easy to see how God worked things together for good.  But wouldn’t it be great if we could embrace the challenging times instead of running from them, like Jonah did?

If you want to learn how to change your perspective when divine interruptions happen, join us for Priscilla Shirer’s study Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted.
